Update Aug 2012
Please read the "Terms and Conditions" listed below carefully, as by using this website you agree to be bound by them. We may update these terms at our discretion but please do not use this website or any other Diamonds In Africa page or website until you agree to all the terms and conditions described below.
Please do not use this website, any other DIA page or website unless you agree to all the terms and conditions described below. These terms and conditions govern your use of, and any purchase from, the DIA, via the website or by phone, and constitute an agreement between you and DIA.
DIA reserves the right to change or modify any of these terms and conditions or any policy or guideline of this site at any time, and in its sole discretion. Any changes or modification will be effective immediately after the revisions are posted onto the website. Should you continue using this website following the posting of any changes or modifications; this will constitute your acceptance of these changes. For this reason you should frequently review these Terms and Conditions and any of our other applicable policies to understand those terms and conditions that apply to your use of this site. If you do not agree to the amended terms, you must stop using this website.
You may choose to view prices and complete your order in the following currencies on the www.diamondsinafrica.com website: United States Dollar (USD), British Pound Sterling (GBP) and Euros (EUR).
Because we receive a high volume of orders, sometimes an item can become out of stock before we are able to post an updated product listing to the website. Should this happen, we will notify you personally and offer you, as an alternative, a different product which is similar or almost identical in its grade to the original. You will also be given the option to cancel your order, should you find that none of our alternatives are suitable.
As we offer over 75,000 diamonds, it is possible that data (such as prices) may be inaccurately displayed on our website due to a system or typographical error. While we make every attempt to minimise the occurrence of such errors, we cannot guarantee they will not occur. We reserve the right to correct any errors as they occur and we do not honour sakes based on inaccurate or erroneous prices. Should the listed price be lower than its actual price, we will attempt to contact you before shipping the product and then, based on your instructions, we will either cancel the order or charge you the revised amount. If the order has already been shipped, by these terms you agree to either return the product or pay the difference between the actual and charged prices. The Diamonds In Africa prices are also subject to change without prior notice. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause; our prices are affected by the worldwide supply and demand of precious metals and gems and changes are often abrupt and unexpected.
At DIA, we pride ourselves on our value-for-money proposition. For the vast majority of orders, the price you see on our website is the lowest possible price we can offer. For this reason most of our prices are final and not open to negotiation. We do however sometimes run special promotions through the use of promotional codes (or other means) to reward loyal or returning clients and for larger orders or for specific diamonds we may be able to offer an additional discount. To receive these promotions you can sign up to our e-mail newsletter by subscribing here.
For clients in the USA, sales tax may be applied depending on the State to which you request your purchase to be shipped. Please note that the tax will appear in the shopping basket only after you have entered your shipping destination and the tax shown before is an estimate based on your current location.
For all other clients, where value added tax (VAT) is not 0%, it will be applied to your order. The VAT amount is calculated based on the shipping destination of your order - in the UK this is currently 20%. Please note that prices on the search page ARE EXCLUSIVE OF VAT.
Orders made in the UK on the DIA website are ineligible for the VAT Retail Export Scheme because DIA is an internet-only retail company and is ineligible to participate. However for customers who wish to pick up their order from our office, we will be able to assist you with the VAT Retail Export Scheme if you have already applied to it.
We are passionate about assisting you, our customers, in choosing the right diamond. If you would like to make a return, all returns are subject to our return policy. It is possible that from time to time, a small minority of our diamonds, when delivered, may not be exactly what you expected or required and therefore we proudly offer you the opportunity to exchange or return any purchase within 30 days subject to the conditions set out in the return policy.
It is important to note that in the case of a purchase of a multi-diamond parcel (for example 2 or more diamonds in one purchase or from the same client), we cannot accept the claim that the majority, or all of the diamonds are unacceptable and need to be returned. For this reason, for those customers which purchase more than one diamond, our 30 day returns policy will not apply for parcels of more than one of the diamonds in the parcel. For your peace of mind we will always notify you prior to sending out the diamond(s) if we can not honour our 30 day returns policy for the purchase you have made.
Similarly, some diamonds on the DIA website may be rarer than others. For these diamonds we may also not be able to accept a return. For your peace of mind we will always notify you when we can not honour our returns policy before shipping out the products to you and ask you to accept the revised terms and conditions.
The inventory and overhead costs associated with comparison purchases can be very costly so to help you make the best decision we would gladly guide you along the way. To help you make the best possible choice please contact one of our expert diamond consultants.
DIA follows a strict "Only Ethically Sourced Diamonds" policy to make sure we only purchase diamonds from the largest and most respected mines which adhere to and enforce the standards established by the Kimberley Process. This process was established in 2003 and aims to prevent diamond sales from financing rebellious and conflict movements. The certification scheme aims to prevent the so-called "blood diamonds" from entering the mainstream rough diamond market. We have made our best efforts to ensure that the diamonds listed on our website have all passed through this process and that by purchasing DIA diamonds you are not financing war and human rights abuses. Read more about DIA's policy on conflict-free diamonds and the measures we take to both, ensure our diamonds are from conflict-free sources and give back to poor African communities.
Purchases made using the DIA website (www.diamondsinafrica.com) may be shipped to locations worldwide. We accept credit card payments for more than 50 countries but for some countries we can only accept wire transfer payments. Purchases made via wire transfer receive a 1.5% discount.
All our shipments are fully insured and sent via FedEx (up to $10,000) or Malca Amit (over $10,000 value). This insurance protects your order from the time it leaves us to the moment it arrives at your door.
For added security, we may request you confirm your identity prior to shipping your order and a signature will be required upon delivery of your DIA order. Please make arrangements to be available at the shipping destination to sign off after receiving the parcel or alternatively specify that you would like to collect your order from the courier's office during checkout. We accept no liability for loss, consequential or other, where the terms and conditions of the carrier are not met.
For any orders of loose diamonds we always ship the product(s) to you with an accompanying GIA diamond grading report (also known as a diamond certificate). These grading reports have been created by diamond grading experts at highly-respected GIA diamond laboratories around the world. They contain a detailed description of all the characteristics of the specific diamond. We can accept no liability for the accuracy of the GIA report.
As it is very expensive to replace a diamond grading report, we require each diamond certificate to be sent with the diamond should you choose to make a return. If you do not include the diamond grading report with your return, you will be charged a replacement fee of $250.
