30-Day Return Policy - no questions asked

At Diamonds in Africa we stand behind the quality of our products and offer customers the opportunity to return, exchange or cancel any purchase made within 30 days of their order. We offer you this policy to allow enough time to consider your purchase as well as to give you the peace of mind that your choice of product meets your requirements and expectations.

Should you decide to return or exchange your item, in its original condition (without any damage), with all accompanying documents and materials, and no later than 30 days after the purchase date, we will issue you a refund or exchange. While we do offer all clients free shipping when delivering your order, we deduct a shipping charge for returns. This charge is the exact amount the courier company charges for the shipment and it will be deducted from your refund. 

We are passionate about assisting you, our customers, in choosing the right diamond. It is however possible that from time to time, a small minority of our diamonds, when delivered, may not be exactly what you expected or required and therefore we proudly offer you the opportunity to exchange or return any purchase within 30 days.

It is important to note that in the case of a purchase of a multi-diamond parcel (for example 2 or more diamonds in one purchase or from the same client), we cannot accept the claim that the majority, or all of the diamonds are unacceptable and need to be returned. For this reason, for those customers which purchase more than one diamond we can not always honour our 30 day returns policy for more than one of the diamonds in the parcel. For your peace of mind we will always notify you prior to sending out the diamond(s) if we can not honour our 30 day returns policy for the purchase you have made.

Similarly, some diamonds on the Diamonds in Africa website may be rarer than others. For these diamonds we may also not be able to accept a return. For your peace of mind we will always notify you when we can not honour our returns policy before shipping out the products to you and ask you to accept the revised terms and conditions.

Making an exchange for a different diamond

If you would like to make an exchange by choosing another diamond on our website, please use the exchange form to let us know.

The Return Process

Upon receiving your returned item in its original condition, the diamond will be weighed and checked against its corresponding grading certificate and our quality assurance experts will sign it off. Your refund will then be processed in the next 4-5 days; however it may take as long as 14 days, depending on your location and/or payment method.

How to Prepare a Return

The following four-step process must be strictly adhered to successfully return an item to Diamonds in Africa and receive a refund:

  • Your Return Reference Number: call or e-mail a customer service representative stating your order number and you will be given a returns reference number. Write this number down and include it inside the package when shipping back to us.
  • Packaging Your Return: Please include ALL the original packaging and additional materials - make sure you include your diamond grading certificate as replacing this certificate is costly and we therefore charge customers a $250 fee should a replacement be necessary. For security reasons, avoid writing, "diamonds" or Diamonds in Africa anywhere on the outside of the box.
  • Insuring and Shipping Your Package: Depending on the value of your order (printed on your invoice), choose one of the following three 'insurance procedures':
    • Value is less than $1,000 (or equivalent in your currency): Ship your return using FedEx. Please ensure your item is fully insured and request a tracking number and receipt so you may be able to confirm that your shipment has reached us.
    • Value is between $1,000 and $10,000: We will organise for FedEx to collect the package from you at a location and day of your choice.
    • Value is more than $10,000: Such returns require that you contact one of our customer service consultants to make special arrangements. Please call us or send an e-mail to support@diamondsinafrica.com stating you would like to make a return and your order reference number.

Diamonds in Africa does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to returned shipments but we will help you through every step of the process.

Please follow the above stated instructions carefully. Returns which do not have a "returns reference number" and parcels that are improperly packaged will be refused receipt. If you have any questions about our return procedure, please contact us at support@diamondsinafrica.com.
